Like it is literally just 2 days away. 2 days!!! I won't see until the end of finals week though. Now my car will sound faster than it is :D Now it is time for that tune, for a nice lump of powah!

Like 30 to 40(on an good day) more ponies, nothing crazy. I guess in this car it should make it nice and fun.

Your expecting that much from exhaust?

Really. Not more like 10? What kind of exhuast?

Now before you start calling me rice-a-roni or whatever, I would like to say two things.
1) This isn't me just making numbers up, people get up to 30hp on 93 octane and 40+ on E85. Average I would say about 25.
2) It isn't just the exhaust, it is the tune as well(usually 50% or more!). Depending on the exhaust(mostly headers) you can get 7 extra ponies or 15 more !! While the tune does the rest. And incase you don't believe me. DYNOS!!
Sorry about the long response, I just want you to know I am not blowing steam out my ass!

It isn't exhaust. It is exhaust+tune. The tune will do 50% or more of the work. The exhaust will net the other 10 to 15 or so hp.

I forgot to mention this is headers! The most important part of the exhaust.

full exhaust and a tune i can see a 20hp gain. Hope it all works out for you

I hope so too, if anything a supercharger may be in the future. . . maybe.

Road and track with a header exhuast and tune net 12.1 hp gain with only a 6 hp gain on top. You are never going to get that much power. That being said, power under the curve from a tune over factory will feel great and throttle response will be nice.

I guess that is on normal. Hell even a company testing their product got 12hp gain over stock(with headers+tune). Now in my defense, I have seen dynos of just exhaust+intake+tune get up to ~30hp. For example these guys, and their testing with different headers and tune got a 20hp gain with just headers( baseline was about 166 to 168 ). . .

Thoughts?

Which headers make more power uel or el? That could be part of it. I'm sure there is a little more power with dyno tuning too. Intakes in the past on subarus haven't provided much in gains, maybe the f20 is different? Good luck, I say get the supercharger, I bet it wakes that car up!

I am going to wait and see how the engine takes FI over a long period of time, so far nothing bad has happened, particularly with a supercharged track car with 40k miles!!
The FA20 is the same, all intakes pretty much suck, it is best just to get a drop in filter. And to answer your question, EL wins up top, but UEL gives a bit more torque lower down. In the end it is more a choice of sound if anything. The dyno's I linked were UEL.
